What is “first cold-press” ?

First cold press is an outdated marketing term used in the olive oil industry. There is a lot of confusion about the olive oil process thanks to the over use of the term.  ” Cold Pressing” refers to the temperature at which the olive oil is extracted from the olive. Unfortunately the use of the term is unregulated, leaving it to be found on nearly every bottle in grocery stores.
